Whoa, it's late.

OK, it's way late so I'm going to keep this REALLY short.
Everything went well today. A couple minor finds but that's to be expected. I came home and got to sketching scale drawings right away, and then revisited Sketchup to play around with that (it is the source of the above image). Nothing really exciting yet, but I hope to become more proficient in the near future. Then I got sucked in to playing with Google Earth, which I hadn't used in forever.
Also, this sketch is no good as the walls have no thickness, so I stopped after adding on the second room. I'll work on it and share my progress as I get further. For now, though, it's (past my) bedtime!
Also, congratulations to Amy and Daniel on their bouncing baby girl, Sara!

you guys need to get some new bedsheets... those colors are HIDEOUS! ;)
Glad the inspection went well - and congrats to Amy and Daniel! So many babies!

Yeah, we also need to get some walls up between the bedroom and the bathroom! Peee-ew! :)
(Um, that's a joke, people. Calm down, there are actually walls. I promise).
I want to get a hang of Sketchup before trying to actually texture things. I just imported generic models for trial-and-error purposes.

I'd like to see a sketchup rendering of that waterbed! I tried sketching our house, but I lacked the follow through to finish the job. I did draw a sweet yurt, though.

As an update: I'm slammed with work today (and, you know, Valentine's Day tonight) but did get the wall issue resolved, and now have a good 3-d render of the master bed and bath and one of the other bedrooms. Hopefully I'll eventually get the whole house, but don't count your chickens. In addition to work work, I'm working on a website for Dana's practice and have to get caught up on some volunteer responsibilities as well. But I have fun with Sketchup, so there should be updates somewhat regularly (until my attention gets otherwise diverted).

Thanks guys! We're so excited and it is so much fun to go home and hold my little girl! She's mostly frowny faced now... Looks like a lot of work to poop in your diaper and she does that pretty much all the time. I'd be frowny faced too.
Sounds like you guys are doing awesomely well! I hope it isn't too long before we can come up and visit you guys. Miss ya! - Daniel (and Amy and Sara and Sadie)
