Little Sweetie
Oh, my little Sweetie. Isn't she cute?

I think this picture is hilarious.

So we had Caroline's 4 month check-up yesterday. She now weighs 12 pounds 13 ounces, and is at the 33rd percentile for weight, 50th percentile for height, and her big ol' Fitz noggin is at the 80th percentile. We're going to need to start calling her "HEED!" very soon.

So she's doing all the stuff she's supposed to be doing, although we really need to be giving her some more tummy time. Note above face--this happens quite frequently with tummy time. This picture has her sitting in her Bumbo, which she's still not quite sure if she likes or not. But I guess by the looks of this picture, we're leaning towards "not like" right now.

She did really well with her shots and her oral vaccine, only screamed her head off for a good hour or so, and slept great last night, waking up today all smiles. After her first round of shots two months ago, she stopped smiling for a couple of days, so it was nice to wake up to her ear-to-ear grin this morning. Good Lord that kid is cute.

We haven't started solid food just yet with her--we're waiting until we get back from Mexico (we leave in 3 weeks!) just for convenience sake. Then we'll be all about the awesome pictures of her with food everywhere. Can't wait! She's sure one happy kid most of the time--except at bedtime. A few weeks ago she started screaming like a banshee at bedtime when I'd try and feed her. We finally figured out that she just doesn't like the wait for my milk to let down when I'm breastfeeding. So we give her a couple ounces from a bottle at night, and that usually calms her down enough so then I can nurse her. That was quite the painful lesson to learn, though--lots of screaming involved. With strong cocktails for mommy and daddy afterwards.

We had Granimal (Mark's mom) out for a visit last weekend, and she had a blast playing with Caroline and giving us a bit of a break. I was on call, and to be honest, the weekend wasn't too terrible. I did have to go in Friday night to assist on a c-section, and then again at 3 AM early Monday morning for a premie. Morning rounds were never horrible, and all in all, not so bad. We had a great St. Paddy's Day with a fun group of friends, dining on homemade shepard's pie and corned beef and cabbage. Someday we'll have it together enough to throw a big party.

OK, I need to get to bed. Enough with the chit-chat.
